Jiamusi University (JU) is located in Jiamusi City, where the standard Mandarin dialect is spoken. It is an ideal place to study the Chinese language, having an environment advantageous to learn the language. In the Heilongjiang Cup Chinese Language competition held in June 2006 in China, the students secured 1st place in the individual event and 2nd place in the team event.

Jiamusi University (JU) was established in 1947, covering 1,490,000 square meters, their building having a floor space of 840,130 square meters and has 22 colleges and 1 department directly under the university. It has become a key comprehensive university, largest in its scale with the most courses and is formidable with integrated strength among provincial institutions of higher learning. The Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China and the Heilongjiang General Medical Training Center are also located in JU.
